Late last night, Antifa thugs and Black Lives Matter exploded into violence on the campus of Georgia Tech in downtown Atlanta.
The culmination of their violent “protest” was the burning of a Georgia Tech police car on campus.
Georgia Gun Owners had multiple sources on campus capturing video, pictures and observing the actions last night.
From what we discovered after hearing from these GGO supporters on the ground, most if not all of the Antifa thugs were brought on to campus to start the violence.
This information confirmed what we mostly already knew — left-wing money from Soros / Bloomberg is funding Antifa and BLM.
This also brings into focus our politics here in Georgia . . .
1. Because this violence took place on campus at Georgia Tech, it’s time we examine fully the so-called “campus carry” bill that passed and became law earlier this year.
As we told you on numerous occasions throughout the push for “campus carry,” legislators at the Capitol were doing everything in their power to water down “campus carry.”
As a result of the legislation that became law, they created a tangled web of “gun free” zone on campus across the state.
So when violent thugs like Antifa show up attacking at will, if you happen to be carrying a firearm on campus, you would need to make sure you’re in an area where you can carry legally before defending yourself with your firearm.
These are the real world consequences of decisions politicians make at the Capitol cutting deals, watering down legislation, and creating confusion for carriers on campus.
2. Of course we can’t talk about Antifa and being able to defend ourselves without talking about Constitutional Carry.
Earlier this year, Republican State Rep. Alan Powell blocked at least TWO Constitutional Carry bills (including his own) from receiving votes in his committee, thus killing Constitutional Carry until at least 2018.
We know Antifa / BLM and others are not just isolated to college campuses . . .
What happens when they come to your town, or violence explodes near where you are? Perhaps you’re still waiting for your county government to give you permission to exercise your Second Amendment rights?
That’s why Georgia needs Constitutional Carry.
Among many reasons, we shouldn’t have to ask our government for permission, pay them a tax, or sit through a waiting period just exercise our Second Amendment rights.
I’m afraid Antifa blowing up at Georgia Tech last night is just the tip of the iceberg.
They’re becoming more organized, better funded, and spontaneous in their violent outbursts.
Heading into the 2018 Georgia General Assembly, Second Amendment supporters like you and I must insist our legislators take the chains off of the law-abiding, and pass Constitutional Carry in Georgia.
For freedom,
