Georgia’s pre-emption law has weak penalties which is why Savannah and other cities are passing local gun control regulations.
Thankfully, Senator Colton Moore has filed legislation for us to fix this by increasing civil penalties in our pre-emption law.
Specifically, this bill allows gun owners to sue any local jurisdiction that violated their gun rights for $50,000!
SB-163 has dozens of Co-Sponsors and has already passed the Senate Judiciary Committee.
